Lose financial aid because he dropped 3 cles?

Spring semester 09 my boyfriend dropped 3 of his 6 cles and changed his degree from CAD to ociates In Arts. He told me today that because of it, financial aid is not going to give him any money for the upcoming summer or fall semester, pretty much at all. Is that right?
