Biology question...need help!?

unlike the cells that make up your body,the reproductive cells contain only half of the genetic material,half from the egg and half from the sperm.during fertilization the sperm and egg unite creating a new and very different being from either parent ,your father contributed 23 chromosomes and your mother gave 23 ,so you are half of each,but depending on dominate and recessive genes a wholly different creature from either parent,you are not your parents but you have some of their traits,the way you look the way you think unique to you but kinda like the parents
