Can someone please clarify this for me its confusing me ?

ok so this is confusing me alot. my boyfriend was with a girl for 5 months and in april he met me and got with me while he was still with the girl . so the girl texted him on day over midterm break while she was back home in dublin (and he was with me ) saying that she thinks they should have a break for the summer and my boyfriend said ok love you to her . then like 4 days later he changed his status on facebook from her to me , all his mates think he dumped her over facebook . i myself am a little confused bt now that im back in france i can kinda see things clear . my boyfriend would introduce me like he was introducing a new toy where as a corriding t all his mates he and this girl where so much in love and where like soul mates . she wrote him a long email over facebook a few weeks later sayng how much he hurt her and all that and he told his best mate that he dosnt want his ex anymore but the thing is i feel like if she had nt have texted him that day id say he would still have kept her in the dark ( well he thinks in the dark i no she knew ) ( he even said it to one of his best mates how his ex was so calm and friendly around me and i no that that day we played poker with her he was looking at her ) the question is dose he want her back ?
