London Train Information?

Ivew got to get to Palmers Green today from Wickford, for 3pm. Ive found a way to get there, which doesnt involve the tube, but getting back ive got to use the London underground (as it wont be until about 8-9pm tonight. Is there another way of getting back into wickford without having to get the tube?
