Writing works cited pg in MLA format...HELP?!?!?

Ok I know if you are quoting an author you start by saying, According to the author, such and such name, stated that " blah blah blah" (pg or article # or name). and make sure you have two complete sentences one before and one after relating to the quote, citation. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were asking.
